LAMB OF GOD Guitarist Producing VEHEMENT Demo
March 10, 2008Willie Adler of LAMB OF GOD is producing a new six-song demo from the League City/Houston, TX-based thrash/death metal band VEHEMENT.
Commented VEHEMENT guitarist Jordan Singleton: "I'm really excited! LAMB OF GOD is a huge influence on us and it is like a dream come true to have Willie Adler working with us in the studio." From there the band will head over to Los Angeles for the mixdown with veteran producer Barry Conley (BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, ZAKK WYLDE, RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS) and Bill Dooley (NEW FOUND GLORY, MÖTLEY CRÜE, ZAKK WYLDE) who will be handling the mastering. Songtitles seet to appear on the recording include "The Omniscient", "Retribution", "Devil Trigger", and "Edge of Reason". A full-scale U.S. tour is in preparation for this summer.
VEHEMENT has been together for roughly two-and-a-half years now and with an awe-inspiring average age of 17 these five band-mates have got the youthful drive, passion, and intensity to take it to the top. "We've all been friends since middle-school and we all have the same interest in music," states Singleton. "The band was originally a project between singer Kris Rodriguez and guitarist Nick Larson. I joined them shortly after, and with the addition of bassist Ned Gayle and drummer Taylor Webb we becameVehement."
VEHEMENT's sound is hard to pinpoint, seeing that they incorporate a variety of influences from modern death metal stalwarts AS I LAY DYING, LAMB OF GOD and CHILDREN OF BODOM to old-school thrash metal icons MEGADETH, ANTHRAX, METALLICA, and TESTAMENT. But their unique sound also manifests a more progressive side of metal that clearly illustrates their love for melodic prog-metal masters such as DREAM THEATER, OPETH, SYMPHONY X and metal legends IRON MAIDEN. Jordan admits, "The progressive metal bands are definitely an influence on us even though our music clearly shows a much rawer metal sound." And regarding his yearning for metal Jordan continues, "I grew up on classic rock like LED ZEPPELIN and SANTANA but as I grew older I really starting getting into bands like METALLICA, MEGADETH and BLACK SABBATH."
